Boycott McDonald's.. Clarity

I've been religiously trying to avoid any products in the list of "Boycott Israel Products". One of the product listed in the index is the well-known McDonald's. Due to that, I have to sacrifice my enjoyment to the "seasonal very tempting delicious all time favorites prosperity burger" of mine. So, today, on 29th January 2009, two days past of CNY, with the semangat berkobar-kobar to update my blog about the "hatred" that I felt yesterday and past few days or weeks or so about people sticking the McDonald's sticker on their windscreen, I jumped in to the McD's site. And you know what?... this is what I got...

"01/15/2009 - McDonald’s Dispels War Effort Internet Rumors - There are new rumors circulating on the internet regarding "McDonald's donating profits to the war in Israel." These rumors are absolutely false. McDonald's never has and never will support war efforts in any area of the world through sales and profits in our restaurants."

Am I too late ? Or is this just a mere reason for them to escape from the boycotting campaign ? For those whom actually producing the Index of Products for Boycott Israel.. are they actually doing an in-depth study on this? Not that I'm blaming them.. I supported their effort. But people.. please remember, one business might terribly effected if one rumor is not true. This is called a defamation ! Islam against this act.

Uji said that when she went back to KL last weekend, McD restaurant seems to be quiet. They are badly effected. If this news is actually true TRUE. Pity them.
